Dan Ryckert said he wanted to be the “bad boy of cricket” during the Don Bradman Quick Look, and I couldn’t think of anything else until this was done.
One of those truly phenomenal Quick Looks, by the way. Go watch it; it doesn’t matter whether or not you have an actual interest in cricket.

Hey friends! One of my non-Tumblrist friends is a big SNSD (Girls’ Generation) fan, and he admitted recently that he hasn’t heard much in the way of other Korean groups, so he asked me for a few suggestions.
Needless to say, I got a bit carried away. But I figured since I’d gone to the trouble of throwing a new playlist together that I might as well share it with you. I remember when I was first discovering the genre that I had real trouble initially finding new bands and songs.
Thankfully the genre has expanded in popularity in Europe and the US over the past few years which has made that job easier, but now all you have to do is listen to this playlist and your YouTube recommendations won’t let you find anything else for at least a month. =)
It’s mostly girl groups, because I figured that’d be a good first transition from SNSD, but there’s a sprinkling of male artists in there too (as well as a few less pop-oriented Korean songs). So if you want to hear more variety, let me know and I can hopefully point you in the right direction.
Any questions, comments, specific recommendations or similar that you have are more than welcome. I wouldn’t call myself an “expert” but I have a pretty broad experience of Korean pop and similar at this point, and I’m always happy to help anyone looking for new music of any kind - regardless of genre or country origin!

bravestarstudios said: Just wanted to say that I love when you're the host of the pod but I also love it when someone else takes the reins because you have more energy to go off on someone like the T1/T2 conversation. Driver or passenger, don't care, I need the Gerstmann™.

jeffgerstmann:

I never especially wanted to host that podcast, it just made the most sense at the time and I knew it was something I was definitely capable of doing. In retrospect, I should have realized Brad was right for that role sooner. He’s always been the one of us who cares the most about the podcast.

Twenty-five years and three days later, reality takes a tip from fiction and charts “Weird Al” Yankovic’s new album Mandatory Fun at number one, with over 100,000 sales during it’s first week. In his 31 year long career, with 14 studio albums to his name, this is the first time he’s hit the top- and the first comedy album by ANY artist to hit #1 since 1960! Congratulations, Al! image
